The EP has four tracks, and its A side opens with the title track, in which a scattered arpeggiated sequence gradually unsettles over solid, driving drums. ‘End to the Means’ is built entirely from drums, with no synths, and set in a chamber reverb it works both as a standalone track and layered into a four-deck mix. The B side features ‘Undertow’, which has a much fuller harmonic palette, with crunchy plucks and upfront percussion that make it well suited to peak time. The EP closes with ‘Rain’, a more introspective piece than Kr!z usually delivers, with a light melody over firmer drum machine programming that offers a reflective moment as the energy is brought down towards the finish.
